| In the ever-expanding
melting pot in which we live, we believe there is
still much value in retaining ethnic identity as
a way to preserve cultural diversity. Focusing on
our family’s own rich heritage, we recognize
the importance of supporting efforts that foster
the continuity of a vibrant Jewish culture. |

Capital
The Foundation provided a significant grant for the
Activity Center at Cedar Village, the Center for Jewish
Seniors, where a wide array of daily programs showcase
the performing arts, special events, community programs
and religious observances.

Operating
The Foundation enabled The Downtown Synagogue to keep
the Eternal Light burning for many years. The Synagogue
made it possible for many Jews who live or work near
downtown to perform their daily prayers. A spiritual
home for out-of-towners, the Synagogue also served as
a place of solace for those chanting the Kaddish, a
prayer of remembrance for recently departed loved ones.
Ultimately, due to lack of support, the Synagogue closed
its doors in 2003.

Program
The Foundation grant made it possible for the JCC to
install a computer lab and offer email and internet
instruction in English and Russian, enabling senior
adults to communicate with friends and family, and connect
with "e-pals," other seniors with whom they
are matched from the US and around the world.

Jewish Options, a program which helps connect
unaffiliated Jews and members of interfaith families
to Jewish life and/or the Jewish community of Cincinnati,
by offering outreach programs in local museums, specialty
stores and more, exposing them to Judaism's many rich
traditions and celebrations.

for Excellence” Campaign at Yavneh Day School,
